Bel-Air #1 – Swanson Estate

The workbench is located in the Panic Room, where Colt Swanson turned into a zombie. It is inaccessible at the beginning of the game, prior to reaching Bel-Air and starting the Desperately Seeking Emma main quest. Players will learn how to use workbenches after arriving at Emma\’s estate and can revisit the Panic Room later in the game.

Bel-Air #3 – Curtis\’ Estate

The workbench is found in a large garage next to the estate in the central part of the district. A blueprint can also be located here.

Bel-Air #4 – Patton\’s Sewer Hideout

The hideout beneath Emma\’s estate can be accessed through the sewer entrance located to the south-east of the estate. However, you won\’t be able to explore it thoroughly the first time you visit as it is tied to reaching Brentwood Sewers. You can return to Patton\’s hideout later to explore it freely and use the workbench.

There are several workbenches located in different areas throughout the game. The first one is located in a container at the north end of Lacuna Av in Halperin Hotel #1. When you reach this district from Bel-Air, you\’ll find it soon enough. Halperin Hotel #2\’s workbench is located on the second floor of the hotel, next to the elevators that you\’ll need to take to reach the third floor during the main story. You\’ll also find a blueprint here.

On the third floor of Halperin Hotel #3, inside Room 307, you will find another workbench that is tied to the main storyline. Francesca\’s Estate is the northernmost one in Beverly Hills, and you can jump over the gate to reach the garage with the workbench. Jessie\’s House, located in the central part of the district, has a garage in which you\’ll find the workbench during the O Michael, Where Art Thou? main quest. Defeat the monsters that flood out to find the workbench and a new blueprint. The workbench in Beverly Hills #3 is inside a house under construction in the southern part of the district, which you\’ll have to explore during the main story to find Jessie. There\’s also a blueprint here.

The Hydroelectric Power Plant in Beverly Hills #4 is inaccessible during your first visit to Beverly Hills. You\’ll reach it later from Monarch Studios and need to complete all the activities in the power plant to find zombified Phil and get the key to the Gate Control Room. Inside, you\’ll find a switch to open the main gate, a workbench, and a blueprint.

Monarch Studios #1\’s workbench is located in the western parking lot, which you\’ll reach early while exploring the district before unlocking Stage 7. To access Monarch Studios #2\’s workbench, you must solve a puzzle and open the huge door inside Stage 7 by connecting a power source. You\’ll then gain access to the north-western part of the building where the workbench is located. Finally, Monarch Studios #3\’s workbench is located in Sound Stage 3.

Venture Walk Underground Parking – Ocean Avenue #3

A map marker for this workbench can be found at Ocean Avenue Workbench #3 – Underground Parking on the Dead Island 2 World Map. You can find this workbench in the northeastern part of the district, but it is located underground, so the icon may be misleading.

To access the underground parking lot, which is required to reach one of the workbenches, you can complete the side quest Missing: Greg. In addition, you will need to restore power in that room. Thalia Residences, located in the northern part of the building, can be accessed by entering the apartment building and reaching apartment 2C. The workbench is located in the kitchen. The Pier district has four workbenches. The first one is in one of the CDC tents at CDC HQ, where you can also find a blueprint. The second one is located in the large dome of CDC HQ, which you will visit during the main storyline. There is a blueprint next to the workbench. The third workbench is located at Lifeguard HQ, which is easily accessible by climbing up at its back. Inside the building, you can find the workbench and a blueprint. The fourth workbench in this district is located at the end of the boardwalk near the shops and ferris wheel. The Metro district has two workbenches. The first one is at the western end of the tunnels, near the place where you started exploring this location, inside the small side room where you can also grab the blueprint. The second one is inside one of the central rooms, where you can also find a locker and a fast travel map. Hollywood Boulevard has two workbenches as well. The first one is located at the subway station underneath the main part of the district, which you will explore for the first time after reaching Hollywood Boulevard via the subway. The second one can be found while exploring the Re-Aging Clinic. After obtaining the access card, enter the back room where you can also find a blueprint. This is the last accessible workbench before the final battle, so make sure to upgrade and repair your weapons to prepare for the final boss.

The Main Purposes of Workbenches

Workbenches become available during the Call the Cavalry main quest, which begins in Emma\’s Estate in Bel-Air. However, they will remain inactive until you complete the mission.
