  • Meet Sigurd at the fish house
  • Reach Buckingham\’s longhouse.
  • Find and rescue the thegns
  • Escort the thegns to safety
  • Report back to Geadric

Find and Speak to Sigurd

Sigurd is located in the alehouse in Buckingham. You can take a boat to get there and dock at your destination.

The alehouse is under the control of hostile guards, so getting to Sigurd is not easy. You can use a disguise or eliminate all the guards to get to him.

When you reach the alehouse, you will find that Sigurd is not there. Speak to the woman at the door to get more information.

The woman tells you that Sigurd and Basim were talking to Thegn Geadric, but Lady Eadwyn\’s men entered the house and a fight broke out. Sigurd and Basim disappeared, and the woman won\’t reveal where they went without a price.

Meet Sigurd at the Fish House

Eivor discovers that Sigurd and Basim escaped from the alehouse through a window and went to the river, where they may have hidden in a fish house.

Use your raven to find a suitable fishing hut and then go there to talk to Sigurd and watch a cutscene.

Reach Buckingham\’s Longhouse

Eivor decides to help fight against Lady Eadwyn, despite disagreeing with Basim\’s proposal and believing he is messing with Sigurd\’s head.

Before entering the longhouse, you will encounter a group of soldiers. You can either deal with them or go around the building without being seen. Break down the door to trigger the next cutscene.

The conversation with Lady Eadwyn doesn\’t go well, and she takes Geadric with her, leaving soldiers and an elite leader in the building. Beat them to proceed to the next stage of the mission.

Find and Rescue the Thegns

The thegns are located southwest of Buckingham, halfway to Oxenoford, in the Leah Villa Garrison.

As you approach the cathedral\’s main square, you witness a trial where the prisoners are about to be executed.

The area is heavily guarded, so to prevent a massacre, you must first deal with the guards. Be sure to focus on the enemies with a red bell icon above their heads, as they will call for backup when they spot Eivor.

It\’s also wise to destroy the bell completely to prevent the enemy from calling for reinforcements should something go wrong on the square.

One of the thegns is being held captive in a cage near the main building. Don\’t forget to free him.

Be sure to release the kneeling thegns on the square to progress to the next stage of the mission.

Escort the thegns to safety

The liberated thegns must be escorted out of the garrison and taken to a safe place on a clearing by the river. It\’s best to follow the marked trail straight from the square and avoid taking shortcuts through the forest.

The escort stage may have some glitches. The thegns won\’t follow you unless they\’re all gathered together. If one of them lags behind, the rest will wait for him, so you\’ll have to go back for him. If they get stuck on an obstacle like a tree, they may encounter an invisible wall, so try to go around the obstacle from the other side. If you can\’t bring them to the designated place, try loading the last save.

Report back to Geadric

The thegns are now free and ready to fight against Lady Eadwyn. Return to Buckingham (using the fast travel option is recommended) to speak with Geadric and complete the mission. You\’ll receive 6800 XP as a reward.
