Ground Floor

Your objective is to explore your surroundings. Every item you come across will trigger a memory from your childhood.

One of the most important memories you\’ll come across is a letter the children wrote to their mother in the living room. They wrote it because they were afraid of her reaction to a broken vase.

Photos are also significant. They are displayed in the living room, and when you point them out, your sister will approach you. After a few memories, she finds them too difficult to look at. The twins don\’t understand what happened on the tragic night that changed their lives so much.

The house is full of memories related to Tyler\’s relationship with his mother. By the fireplace, you can recall a memory about his hockey team. Little Tyler was eager to join the team, but it was one of many reasons why he and his mother argued.

Upstairs

After climbing the stairs, you\’ll find a small hallway and the children\’s room. Start by looking at the book on the chair. You\’ll notice it, and your sister will remind you of one of your favorite books.

Alyson will appear next to you as soon as you enter the room.

You\’ll find plenty of interesting items in the room. Let\’s start with the photo taped to the closet. It will trigger a series of memories about friends and holidays.

On the right wall of the room, you\’ll find posters and a hockey team scarf. Tyler reminds his sister that he wanted to join the team, but their mother considered it too aggressive a sport for girls.

You\’ll find a box on your desk with one of the most important secrets hidden inside. The Book of Goblins features many stories written by children and will help you solve some of the puzzles in the game.

Tyler points out that the box used to contain his diary, which his mom took from him. It contained a lot of information about his sexuality.

Before you leave the room, take a look at the books and games. The siblings will remember their favorite entertainment from that time.

As you leave the room, you can recall another memory. Alyson becomes very interested in their shared stories, which took place in a small makeshift tent.

Entering Mother\’s Room

You can enter your mother\’s room through two ways:

  1. Solve the puzzle;
  2. Forcefully open the door.

Your sister wants to solve the puzzle together with you, as it would impact your relationship.

To solve the puzzle, you need to arrange three pieces correctly. The correct order is mentioned in the Book of Goblins, under the story titled The Princess\’s Party.

The correct order of the elements is:

  1. Moose;
  2. Bear;
  3. Pelican.

Be sure to turn the handle after arranging the pieces correctly to enter the room.

Once inside, you can focus on a memory. The siblings remember a conversation their mother had with her best friend, Tessa.

You can also find a figurine on the right side of the bed, which you can add to your collection.

Before picking up Tyler\’s diary, take a look around the room. You\’ll see a painting and a machine, which remind the siblings of their mother\’s artistic skills.

You\’ll also find a photo of your mother with her best friend on the desk. This makes the siblings think that Tessa might have answers to their questions.

In the desk drawer, you\’ll find Tyler\’s diary, which is what you came for. However, picking it up will block any interactions in the room.

While Tyler reads his diary, Alyson discovers two books that change their perspective on their mother. This prompts the twins to investigate further.

Afterwards, you\’ll enter Tyler\’s memories, as he recalls the tragic night that changed their lives.

Planning for the Future

Once you\’re on the terrace, the siblings reflect on what they\’ve learned. One of their plans is to visit Tessa\’s house to learn more about their mother. You have two options:

  1. Tessa might have answers;
  2. It\’s better to forget.

Whichever option you choose, you\’ll visit Tessa\’s home in the future.

The conversation also includes discussions about future plans and ideas:

  1. Why rush the house sale?
  2. Is something wrong?
  3. Do we have a plan?

After the conversation, you and your sister take a stroll around the neighborhood. This helps you remember more events from your childhood.

Meeting Sam

As soon as you enter the house, you encounter Sam, an old friend, who points a gun at you. Alyson comes to your rescue and saves you.

The conversation quickly turns to selling the house. You have two dialogue options:

  1. You were not requested;
  2. Some unpleasant memories as well.

Regardless of your decision, Tyler will not forget the unpleasant night when his mother held a gun at him. In the end, Sam hands over the apartment keys to their mother, and the siblings head towards the store.
