  • Saint Cloud
  • The Lantern

Saint Cloud

The first few minutes after the introductory cut-scene will serve as a tutorial. In the palace gardens, you will encounter Dextral and Sinistral Prototypes. More information about this enemy type is available on a separate page, Prototypes.

Head straight for the first opponent, who should be easy to defeat. Then climb the stairs and the wall above.

Upon reaching the large square, you will face enemies, but the gate in front of you will be closed. Instead, turn left towards the smaller gate that can be unlocked by defeating one Prototype. Walk through it.

The first Vestal is behind the gate, serving as a save point. Activate it.

Go down the stairs, defeat the enemy, and turn left at the intersection. Two more enemies will be waiting for you, one of whom is hiding by the stairs on the right.

Continue along the path until you reach a large clearing, where you will find an opponent and a chest with a module. More information about modules is available on a separate page, Equipment.

Follow the path to a clearing covered with a strange fog, where you will encounter the first mini-boss, the Unstable Lancer. Explosive grenades are effective against this enemy, but be cautious, as regular Prototypes may also join the fight.

The Lantern

This is another part of the starting location, where you will encounter Lancer for the first time. More information about him is available on a separate page of the guide, Guards. Additionally, you will encounter a Stalker, which is explained on the Serpents page. Of course, basic Prototypes will also block your path.

After defeating the boss, activate the Vestal in the square, then go through the fallen tree. Don\’t forget to open the chest behind it to obtain a pistol that inflicts frost.

Follow the broad pathway and eliminate one Prototype on the way. You will eventually come across a fountain where you will face the Stalker for the first time. Be careful of its fiery shots.

Continue ascending the stairs where two Prototypes are located and proceed towards the lighthouse. Another Stalker can be found there.

Next to the building, there is a chest containing a compass. Upon usage, it will provide you with the direction towards your objective. Later on, it will also indicate the location of the Horseless Carriage. Descend the slope and activate the Vestal to proceed.

At the well, a Lancer accompanied by a regular Prototype will appear. Defeat them and open the chest to acquire a part that can upgrade the Burette, enabling it to carry up to 3 of them. Return to the Vestal and install the mod.

Turn right and left at the well where you will encounter another Stalker along the way. You will eventually reach a wall which you need to jump over at the marked location.

Be cautious as there is another mini-boss, Unstable Lightning Ram, which will be explained further on a separate page of the guide. Beware of its electrical attacks, but take note that it moves slowly.

After defeating the mini-boss, head towards the boat and interact with the glowing spot to conclude this mission.
