General Tips

Although Shaggy is easy to master, consider these tips:

  1. While charging his neutral special, Shaggy builds up his rage, making him vulnerable to attacks. To avoid this, charge it in a difficult-to-reach location, e.g., outside the arena, and eat the Scooby Snack that Shaggy equips to restore health. (Be aware that an enemy can also pick it up.)
  2. By using the ground down special sequence, Shaggy can throw a sandwich at his opponents that heals his allies.
  3. Further special attacks provide armor with Rage. Attacks after charging deal more damage, have better range, and inflict the Weaken status on opponents and allies.
  4. Ground down attack can break armor and slow down enemies. Using the same combination again makes Shaggy attack again.
  5. The ground side special is Shaggy\’s best move, dealing a lot of damage and knocking opponents back. However, don\’t rely on it too much as experienced players can easily avoid or punish it.

Signature Perks

Shaggy has access to two Signature Perks:

  • Hangry Man: If a sandwich is equipped, Shaggy charges his rage faster when using a ground neutral special. The sandwich is then consumed by Shaggy.
  • One Last Zoinks: When Shaggy\’s damage counter is 100 or higher, he automatically goes berserk, upgrading his next special attack.

Hangry Man reduces the charge duration to one second, while One Last Zoinks automates the action when the damage counter is 100. Both unique bonuses only affect the charge, so it\’s up to you which one to use more often.

Recommended Build

This build is so universal that you can use both unique perks alternatively:

  1. The Lumpy Space Punch perk boosts your team\’s aerial melee attacks by 5%, or 10% if an ally chooses it.
  2. The Slippery Customer perk gives your team 10% longer dodge invulnerability window, or 15% if an ally chooses it.
  3. The Triple Jump perk grants you an extra jump after hitting an enemy in the air, and limitless jumps if an ally also chooses it.

Strategies to Win as Shaggy

To start off, head to a safe spot and start charging your rage. Your opponents will likely target you to prevent you from unlocking improved specials. Jump behind the platform and use the neutral special while you are far away from each other.

Do not recharge in vulnerable spots like the one shown in the screenshot, as your opponent can easily throw you out of the arena and score a point. However, this can be a good way to provoke your opponent to attack. If you are willing to take the risk, cancel the rage charge and throw the enemy out first.

The special side, or kick, is a powerful offensive move with a long range and knockback. Use it wisely and don\’t overdo it. When enraged, the kick is even more effective.

If your enemies prefer ground combat, use the air down special. This move grants you armor and creates a large explosion upon landing, knocking back enemies and dealing significant damage.
