General Information About Gwent Players

You can play Gwent with innkeepers or merchants. Most of your opponents are merchants and traders, and they can be found in Novigrad. Some of the opponents are specific characters found in certain locations and are encountered during quests. Winning unique games against common opponents allows you to win random cards from different factions. To win in quests, it is crucial to collect a strong deck.

Quests Related to Gwent Gameplay

In addition to standard Gwent games against merchants, there are tournament games with stronger opponents where you can win unique cards.

\”Gwent: Collect \’Em All\” is the first quest that accompanies you throughout most of the game. It involves collecting all possible cards, including unique ones. The number of cards, including the repeated ones, is limited. To collect them all, complete all quests related to the card game and defeat most \”standard\” opponents (innkeepers, merchants). When you no longer receive a card after a game, it means you have all non-unique cards.

\”Gwent: Velen Players\” is the first phase of the tournament games and involves players from the northern part of Velen. Start with a game against Bloody Baron and then defeat three more enemies in villages. After winning with Baron, win with the boatbuilder in Oreton and the fortune teller in Benek. Once you defeat any of them, you unlock access to playing with Hadek in Midcopse.

\”Gwent: Big City Players\” involves four opponents and is received after talking to Vimme Vivaldi in Novigrad. After winning with Vivaldi, go to Marquise Serenity and then Dijkstra. The last opponent is an elven merchant in Farcorners. Completing the quest earns you the commander card Francesca Findabair, the most beautiful woman in the world.

\”Gwent: Playing Inkeeps\” is a continuation of the previous Gwent quest in Novigrad. You must win against three opponents in different places, starting with Stjepan in the inn in Oxenfurt.

The tables below show Gwent player locations and the cards they can reward you with, organized by region. The first time you defeat a player, you will receive a card, but subsequent victories will only earn you resources. The cards you obtain are random, so you\’ll need to defeat most of these players (around 80%) to collect them all. Once you\’ve obtained all the cards, you won\’t receive any new ones from new opponents.

In Velen, players can be found at various locations, including inns and merchants. The list of players includes blacksmiths, armorers, and other merchants.

In Novigrad, players can be found at the Passiflora, Golden Sturgeon, Kingfisher Inn, and the Cunny of The Goose (Farcorners).

It\’s important to note that defeating players is not related to Gwent quests, and the list below only contains less significant players.
