Heist 2: Prison Break

This guide provides a walkthrough for the Prison Break heist in GTA 5.

For the second heist, you\’ll need to invest $40,000 of your own money to buy gear and prepare for the mission. This investment is a one-time fee, and you won\’t have to pay any more if the mission fails or is interrupted. Before starting the mission, you\’ll need to do some preparation.

Plane

The first preparatory mission is to travel to McKenzie airport and deal with the gangsters. While one player (the pilot) goes to the hangar to steal the plane, the others eliminate the first wave of enemies. More enemies will arrive in cars and attempt to block the runway, so it\’s essential that the pilot is experienced and that the team provides cover during taxiing.

Once the plane is in the air, you\’ll need to safely land it in the marked spot at the airport in the Southern bay while the rest of the team either fights the gangsters or escapes the site.

The Bus

The other required vehicle is the prison bus. One player can handle this task. Travel to the Northern part of the map, where the bus is escorted by a helicopter. Deal with the helicopter first, and then steal the bus. Be careful not to damage it too much, or the mission will fail. Take the bus to the destination.

The Station

In the next mission, the team is split into two groups: thieves and disguised police officers. The police officers need to lose their tail, get a police car, and go to the station. Once inside the station, they should go to the room on the right, pick up the schedule from the desk, and return to the car.

Drive the car to the destination. Once there, set the car on fire using the fuel tanks and take the document, which ends the mission.

The thieves need to travel to the docks and board the marked ship. Fight your way to the bow of the ship, dealing with enemies hiding behind the containers. The first person to open the container will get to drive an excellent car.

The client will accept the car as long as it is operational, so don\’t worry about damage. Once you reach your destination, climb onto a container and approach it to trigger a cutscene where the car will be stolen. After that, take the car to the garage to complete the mission. A helpful hint is to split your crew into 1 policeman and 3 thieves.

Wet Work

This mission requires prior preparation. Your crew must split into two teams to take out two important targets. One team goes to the city center and climbs a ladder onto a building with sniper rifles. Once the target\’s car arrives, kill both targets simultaneously, as well as the driver if desired, and escape the scene quickly. The other team must eliminate a lawyer at his heavily-guarded estate. The game recommends stealth, but you can kill him at any point outside the estate. A hint for this mission is to split the team with three players going to the city center and one to the villa.

Prison break

Default income: 400,000$

Special objectives:

• Rashkovsky takes no more than 1% damage,
• Free the prisoner and get him aboard the plane within 4:40 minutes,
• All team members survive.

During this mission, split your crew into a 1:1:2 ratio. The first player is the pilot who will take the plane supplied during preparations and wait for the prison team to recapture the prisoner. While waiting, you will be attacked by fighter planes, so avoid them and don\’t let yourself be shot down.

You have the option to land on either the airport or the highway. Your goal is to pick up the passengers without crashing. Once you\’ve done that, land the plane and have everyone, except the sniper, exit the plane. Don\’t forget to open the side door. Lose the chase and reach your destination.

Pro-tip: Wait until your time meter reaches 3:30 before leaving the airport. This will give the prison crew enough time to complete their tasks, and the earlier you reach your destination, the easier it will be to deal with fighter planes. Also, if you\’re not under fire, take the initiative and follow an enemy plane, mirroring its movements.

Kill the driver once he realizes what\’s happening and starts to escape. The sapper has several tasks to complete. First, he needs to steal the actual bus and drive it to McKenzie airport, where he\’ll blow it up. He then needs to steal the fighter chopper, which is being guarded by a heavily armored Merryweather mercenary.

The Buzzard has homing missiles, so use those to cover the pilot from incoming planes. Once the crew is outside of the prison walls, the sapper needs to get to them and provide cover. Escort the crew to their destination, then collect them from the beach and head to the city.

Pro-tip: Don\’t try to help the prison team, as you\’ll be shot down over the prison. Eliminate the chopper guard with a headshot instead of trying to run him over, or he\’ll survive.

Once you get into the bus, all of the gates will swing open. The prison team, consisting of players disguised as the guard and the prisoner, need to take the bus and drive it to the prison. Stop at the gates for control and park in the designated area. The guard is the only one with a weapon, so start the attack as soon as possible. The prisoner should take a weapon from the nearest policemen. Once you find Rashkovsky, fight your way to the gate where an armored car is waiting. Use it to get to the airport and switch to the plane.

Pro-tip: Use the strongest crew with the most experience and best stats for this mission. Complete this part quickly so the pilot and sapper don\’t have to wait too long.
