Is it possible to recover lost items?

Once an item has fallen overboard due to damage, it cannot be retrieved. It is impossible to return and fish out the same item from where it fell overboard.

When it comes to Pursuit-related items, this can pose a problem, as they will not respawn where they were found or received once they are lost. You will only receive a message that the task has ended.

Can passengers be retrieved?

Some Pursuits require passengers to be taken onboard. Passengers are stored in the cargo hold, along with items and fish. If a passenger-occupied slot is damaged, the person will fall overboard, and an in-game message will indicate this.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to save such a passenger, and they disappear completely from the game. If the person was involved in a Pursuit, the quest is concluded immediately.

How can item loss be minimized?

Whenever possible, store your most valuable items in Storage and retrieve them as needed. Items are safe from harm in Storage, and there is no possibility of them disappearing. You can access your Storage from any dock location by selecting My Storage. While docked, you can quickly move items to Storage by pressing MMB (PC), Triangle (PS), or Y (Xbox). Unfortunately, this does not apply to passengers, who cannot be moved to Storage and will remain with you until the end of the involved Pursuit.
