Assassins Creed Valhalla: Completing the Vault

This is a walkthrough guide for the Closing the Vault quest in Assassin\’s Creed Valhalla.

As Eivor and Ljufvina approach the end of their investigation, they head to the archives to confirm their suspicions about the identity of the Vault.

Return to Ljufvina

After eliminating The Needle, return to Ljufvina and report back. The Needle used the council seal, indicating that the Red Hand has a member on the council.

Reach Jorvik\’s archives

In the archives, you will find a scroll with a list of goods needed for the Yule feast, written by Audun. Expensive items have been crossed off the list, despite the treasury being empty.

You will also find a letter from Hjorr, marked with the council seal. It lists goods that can be melted down for the marketplace, without his wife\’s knowledge.

Break through the boards blocking the entrance to a hidden room. Inside, wine was stored, but has already been taken. It\’s possible that the intended wine for the feast was poisoned.

Reach the Yuletide feast

The feast is being held at the Arena in Jorvik. Discuss the plan with Ljufvina when you arrive.

Question the council members to see if any reveal their true identity:

1. Hjorr: claims he can\’t get drunk and show himself in such a state;
2. Audun: refuses to drink the wine himself, but encourages Eivor to drink as much as he wants;
3. Faravid: offers beer instead of wine;
4. Ricsige: immediately orders his men to pour out the sour wine and offers wine from his private stock.

The Vault is revealed to be Audun, with the evidence collected.

1. A man hosted a feast and spent money even though there was none left in the treasury;
2. When Eivor mentioned wine, Audun was the only one who acted suspiciously;
3. He claimed the wine was for residents only and that he wouldn\’t drink it;
4. He was also the only one who knew the wine had not yet been served;
5. Previously, he had been seen with The Firebrand, who turned out to be the Abess.

What happens if you choose the wrong person? Actually, nothing. You can still proceed with the quest and Audun will eventually reveal his true identity.

Assassinate The Vault

After a cutscene, Audun introduces the Lords of Jorvik to the guests of honor. Everyone who drinks the wine is poisoned, and Audun reveals his true intentions.

The Red Hand\’s men appear, but your main target is the Vault. He will try to escape, so you must catch up to him and eliminate him to complete the quest.

After the fight, speak to Ljufvina and then head to the royal residence to meet with Ricsige. During a cutscene, Eivor exposes the conspiracy and assures Ricsige that the threat has been neutralized.

You can also advise Ricsige on what to do with the remaining silver in the city\’s sewers.

1. Return it to the merchants: The stolen silver will be returned to its rightful owners, but you won\’t receive any discounts on their goods;
2. Fund Halfdan\’s war: You can support Halfdan in his fight against the Picts. Jarl will later mention that the money could have been used for another purpose, but it\’s already been spent.

By completing the quest, you will form an alliance with Jorvik and earn 5,100 XP as a reward.
